Lessons


Lessons start with an introduction to horse safety, barn safety, and basic horsemanship. During the riding portion, the lessons are tailored to the students’ experience level to ensure every rider is safe and learning as much as they can. Both individual and small group lessons are available.

FAQs

  • You do not just learn how to get on and hold on. You learn how to handle a horse, groom, tack up, and prepare for a ride. During the riding portion you are taught how to effectively and safely ride and use your body to work with your horse as a partner. As you progress and advance you will learn how to read horse body language, equine anatomy, groundwork, and many other aspects of overall horsemanship.

  • Riders must wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Dress according to the weather and wear layers in the cooler months. Some people benefit from bringing a water bottle as this is a physical activity. Everything for the horses, as well as helmets are supplied. Helmets are required for every rider under the age of 18.

  • Lessons are $35 per rider and are 45 minutes and are paid at the first lesson. Consistent weekly lessons are paid a minimum of 4 weeks in advance to retain your spot.

    Extended lessons and travel lessons are available for an additional cost.

  • There is no charge to cancel at least 24 hours in advance; however, the lesson fee does apply for cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the lesson or no-shows.
